LIPOR Receives Visit from XVIII Benchmarking Portugal
On November 29, LIPOR hosted a technical visit as part of the XVIII Benchmarking Portugal, welcoming experts and representatives from various Brazilian organizations for a day dedicated to exchanging knowledge and good practices in the waste management sector.
The participants had the opportunity to learn more about the strategy of LIPOR, a benchmark in innovative and integrated waste management solutions in Portugal.
The visit included a tour of some of its main infrastructures:
1. Automatic Packaging Sorting Unit
Recognized as the largest unit of its kind on the Iberian Peninsula, this facility is an example of technological innovation in the process of separating and forwarding recyclable materials, contributing to an increase in recycling rates.
2. Composting Plant
In this plant, organic waste is transformed into "Nutrimais”, a high-quality organic fertilizer used in sustainable agriculture, reinforcing LIPOR's commitment to the circular economy.
3. Energy Recovery Plant
The visit ended with a tour of the unit that converts undifferentiated waste into electricity, reducing the need for landfills and promoting the recovery of energy from waste.
The event was yet another demonstration of LIPOR's commitment to sharing knowledge and inspiring new practices that contribute to a more sustainable future.
