It is important to mention that LIPOR analyzes opportunities to develop projects in other geographies, as long as they fit LIPOR's profile and competencies.
Fifteen LIPOR's new preferential markets
Every two years, LIPOR reviews its Preferential Markets with the aim of aligning its action strategy regarding the internationalization of its brand and competencies.
The volatility of the world and the rapid change of circumstances at various levels, from political, economic, social, health, environmental, etc. have an impact on the priorities for action and investment of the major funders of cooperation and development projects.
The alignment of LIPOR's strategy with the aim of bringing its operations closer, more focused and more efficient is now being readjusted, with some changes to be noted.
This reflection is the result of an analysis of well-defined criteria based on the priorities and programmed financial investment envelopes defined by the major financial institutions.
The two major geographical blocks of action are now AFRICA and the LAC region (Latin America and Caribbean).
The PALOP (Portuguese-speaking African countries) continue to be on our radar, as these regions are considered to have extremely high potential for the development of sustainable urban waste management projects.
There are 15 LIPOR Preferred Markets:
- PALOP: Angola | Cape Verde | Guinea-Bissau | Mozambique | S. Tomé and Príncipe
- Other African Countries: Ghana | Morocco | Senegal | Tunisia
- Latin America: Argentina | Brazil | Chile | Colombia
- Caribbean: Barbados | Trinidad & Tobago
