Portuguese Ambassador to Cape Verde meets with the Mayor of Maio Municipality
Following the inauguration of the new executive of Maio Municipal Council, a meeting was held in February between the Portuguese Ambassador to Cape Verde, Dr. João Queiroz, and the Mayor of Maio, Dr. Valdino Rely Brito. One of the items on the meeting's agenda was to resume the cooperation synergies between the parties within the scope of the CITRES Maio Project, with the aim of ensuring alignment and proper implementation on the ground of the activities inherent to the project.
As a Project Beneficiary, Maio City Council is a key partner with an active voice in decision-making, both in terms of defining the Technical Solutions to be implemented and adapted to the local reality, and at an administrative and political level, ensuring that more institutional steps are well taken and carried out.
In these important moments, the focal point of the CITRES Maio Project at Maio Town Hall has already been appointed, who will be the interlocutor with the implementing partners, in this case the Portuguese Embassy in Cape Verde, Camões I.P. and LIPOR.
The Technical Team also had the opportunity to hold a meeting with the focal point of the Municipality of Maio, having already established an action plan for upcoming activities, namely the identification of the most pressing issues and the scheduling of the next mission for the Steering Committee meeting, the latter which also complements a program of implementation of key activities in the field.
The CITRES May Project is co-financed by the European Union and Portuguese Cooperation, through Camões, I.P., which, in addition to financial support, ensures the implementation of the project under the delegated cooperation model.
