LIPOR in Brussels

LIPOR was in Brussels to meet with key entities such as the European Commission, REPER – the Permanent Representation of Portugal to the European Union, the European Parliament, and private organisations.

With the aim of understanding and following trends in the waste management sector, actively discussing national and regional challenges, presenting LIPOR’s capabilities and expertise in its national and international areas of activity, and contributing to the dissemination of a successful case such as LIPOR, this mission is considered highly strategic and a driver of new approaches and activities for LIPOR in Portugal and worldwide.

LIPOR is once again present in Brussels, organizing a roadshow to meet and engage with key bodies and entities, namely the European Commission’s Directorates-General in areas that are crucial for LIPOR’s future growth, as well as MEPs and various technical specialists.

On this occasion, LIPOR’s CEO was also interviewed by Antena 1 for the programme "Portugal em Direto”, where he explained the importance of LIPOR’s presence in Brussels, the networking dimension, its flagship projects, and the way it represents the interests and gives visibility to its associated Municipalities, to the Northern Region, and to Portugal through its national and international work.

This lighthouse role is essential to ensure LIPOR’s alignment with European policies under development, to leverage its pioneering attitude, and to showcase LIPOR’s high-performance results and projects, which are recognized as benchmarks in Europe and worldwide.

LIPOR values this proximity to Europe and is already working on a follow-up action agenda to be developed in 2026.
