Valongo – Door-to-door Selective Collection Extension to Apartment Buildings

Valongo, December 13, 2022:

The "Reciclar é Dar+” (recycling is giving more) project, promoted by LIPOR and the Municipality of Valongo, extends door-to-door selective waste collection to apartment buildings.

An awareness and participation campaign is being carried out among the residents of over 1100 multifamily dwellings in the municipality of Valongo, with the purpose of promoting dedicated selective collection. In this phase, each housing complex will be equipped with exclusive (limited access) containers for the recycling of paper/cardboard, plastic/metal, glass and food packaging, in strategic locations near these buildings.

In this phase of the "Reciclar é Dar+" project, families will receive a set of ecobags for multimaterial recycling and a 10 liter capacity bucket for food waste deposition.

This system brings individual advantages to the inhabitants of Valongo and will contribute to the achievement of the community's recycling goals, placing the municipality on the route to the Circular Economy and the fight against waste production.
